Happy New Year!
Today begins a 365 day photo challenge to show what my #RealLife looks like. Not just the highlights or cropped photos, but an #unfiltered view of the good, bad, and the ugly.
The idea came from a wonderful friend and mom-trepreneur, Marisa Gouty. Check out her awesome site- Online Empowerment Formula. In 2014, Marisa did a photo-a-day challenge that was completely amazing. (Get the complete back story and her 2015 challenge on MarisaGoudy.com) Her 2015 project is to inspire you to love the life you live. I think that needs to start with being honest with your social media self. Life isn’t perfect, so why are all your Instagram photos?
We all know the Mom who looks like she has the perfect Instagram life. Her perfect children are always adorably dress, exceptionally gifted, and creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces in their pristine playroom. When we see those photos, we automatically compare it to our mud covered children who are eating non- organic food, off of paper plates, while watching Sofia the First. Essentially comparing her highlights to our behind the scenes. My 2015 goal is the lift the veil and make it OK to show your #RealLife. So who is with me?

A few notes: (post edited 9:50pm)
– While Marisa does an amazing job with a photo everyday, I just can’t keep up. #RealLife does get in the way, so follow me on Instagram for the latest photo everydayish
-First #RealLife photo is of my Birthday Boy Cole! He is smiling in our mock playroom with a big mess behind him. Everything still in moving bags, toys even spilling out of a double stroller bag, showing our middle of a move status. I would normally never post this, especially for his birthday photo, but it is truly our #RealLife!
